**I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Taylor Haiden. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.**

I’m going to be straight-up: I did not like “Werewolf Epidemic” quite as much as the first book in the series. This one was more of an adventure story than a romance, and that departure from the first book was a little bit disappointing. I still enjoyed Mr. Bradley’s narration and for me, that’s what kept me listening more so than a desire to see how things turned out.

Isabella and Dr. Roman’s relationship took a bit of a backseat to the medical mystery as far as what drove the plot. Sure, It still had it’s moments and those scenes were quite well written, but they were almost…distracting. I honestly think I liked them more as individuals than as a couple—I couldn’t quite forget some of Dr. Roman’s shenanigans from “Werewolf MD”. The violence—action-based or not, as the author makes sure to point out in the synopsis—was a little much at times, so if you’re squeamish, be warned.

I did enjoy the intricacies of the werewolf community: The Council, the pack dynamics, their similarities and differences to humans, etc. Werewolves are generally presented as immune to diseases, so for that to be the driving force behind this story was rather unique and refreshing. It provided a lot more suspense, tension, and risk than Book 1 had and I found Vincent to be a much more interesting adversary than the Black Claw. The level of manipulation and hatred he displayed was deplorable and made him a character who was easy to despise, though his actions added an interesting level of suspense.

Bottom line: This may or may not be the end of Roman and Isabella’s story and if it’s not, I’m not entirely convinced I’ll continue their journey with them. I can’t highly recommend this series, but if you enjoy werewolf romance and don’t require a lot of substance to the relationship, you might give this a try.

From Hugh: “I’m a classically trained actor, and have been on Broadway and toured all over the world in everything from musicals to Shakespearean productions. I still perform on stage from time to time, but most of the time these days I stick to recording, and producing and directing for the stage.”
